Koechlein Consulting Engineers (KCE), Inc. is a consulting engineering firm offering geotechnical and geological engineering, materials testing, and construction observation and testing services.  We offer state-of-the-art engineering services that provide for practical and economical construction methods.  This is based on over 30 years of experience in design and construction of projects ranging from single family residences to large commercial projects.  This experience has been developed in the Rocky Mountain Region as well as many other areas of the United States and Overseas.

Geotechnical engineering is concerned with the engineering properties of earth materials. Geotechnical engineers investigate the soil and bedrock below a site to confirm their engineering properties as they will relate to the proposed construction. Geotechnical engineers will also design structures constructed of or in soil and/or rock. A geotechnical engineer will also assess the risk to humans, property and the environment and provide recommendations for mitigation of natural hazards such as earthquakes, landslides, debris flows, and rock falls.
